Award winning journalist Hopewell Chin’ono was declared innocent

On this day in 2021, award winning journalist Hopewell Chin’ono was declared innocent for the charges laid against him for spurring on committing public violence through posting tweets denouncing looting and allegedly exposing government corruption. The High Court judge, Justice Musithu argued that charges laid against him lacked clear evidence.
