On this day in 1947, Zimbabwean politician and Former Minister of Finance and Economic Plannning Patrick Antony Chinamasa was born. Chinamasa also held other ministerial duties before heading the Finance ministry.
On this day in 2018, the former minister of finance, Patrick Chinamasa stood in parliament to present the first budget of the Mugabe-era. In his speech, he pledged broad spending cuts and suggested the end in most sectors to the Mugabe policy of, ‘indegenization’, which forced business the transition of majority ownership.
