The General Act of the Berlin Conference was signed

On this day in 1885, the Berlin Conference organized by Otto Von Bismarck of Germany in November 1884 came to an end. The conference was attended by European countries to discuss the partitioning of Africa. The Conference ended by the signing of the General Act which allowed European countries to claim any territory in Africa.
