Veteran nationalist Naison Ndlovu was born

On this day in 1930, the late veteran nationalist Naison Khutshwekhaya Ndlovu was born in Filabusi. Ndlovu worked at the Jairos Jiri Training Centre in Bulawayo before he joined politics. He met Joshua Nkomo in 1956, when the influence of Southern Rhodesia African National Congress (SRANC) started to develop and was active during the formation of ZAPU in 1961. Ndlovu was continuosly detained after the infamous Unilateral Declaration of Independance. In 1981, he was the first black councillor for Luveve and was elected Bulawayo mayor for a two year term
