Urban grooves artist Leonard Mapfumo was born in Harare

On this day in 1983, urban grooves artist Leonard Mapfumo was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. Mapfumo is an urban grooves/hip-hop artist. He has been so active on the national hip-hop scene since 2002 and have gained recognition as one of the fathers of Zimbabwean urban sounds. Mapfumo begin to record and perform soon after graduating high school in 2000. Mapfumo founded his own studio, Heshi Mfeshi and has been recording with other Zimbabwean musicians for the previous years.
