On this day in 1899, The late Rhodesian (now Zimbabwe) barrister, politician and judge Robert Clarkson Tredgold was born in Bulawayo. Clarkson attended first Prince Edward School and then Rondebosch Boys’ School in Cape Town, South Africa. He was a Rhodes Scholar and read law at Hertford College. In 1968, he published a book titled, ‘The Rhodesia that was my life’. Clarkson died on 08 April 1977.
