The late British-Zimbabwean novelist, Doris Lessing died

On this day in 2013, a well known Rhodesian bred-writer Doris Lessing died. Her first published book stesses thematical concerns affecting black people which is now Zimbabwe. For instance, in ‘The Grass Is Singing’ (1950), is about a white farmer and his wife and their African servant in Rhodesia.
