On this day in 1992, the late, Amai Sally Mugabe, late President Mugabe’s first wife died from kidney failure at the age of 60. In 1962, she demonstrated in mobilising African Women (AW) in challenging the Rhodesian (now Zimbabwe) constitution, she was charged with sedition and was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
