On this day in 1993,politician Joana Ruvimbo Mamombe was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. Mamombe is a member of the MDC political party and member of parliament for Harare West constituency. She is known for her strong political opinions in parliament. However, she has had several clashes with the law recently.
On this day in 2020, member of parliament of the Harare West constituency Joana Momombe and two MDC-A activists Netsai Marowa and Cecelia Chimbiri allegedly went missing following a protest which they led in Warren Park, Harare against the government’s failure to provide for the under-privileged during the COVID-19 pandemic. The three were missing for 2days.
