On this day on Friday 05 January 2018, the late Zimbabwean tourist John Bowman was attacked by a crocodile at the age of 90. The event took place as he was paddling at a well known crocodile hotspot at Mpopoma Dam. Subsequently, in a bid to seek assistance, he died on his way to the hospital.
