Leander Starr Jameson signs a treat with Shona settlers around Masvingo

Leander Starr Jameson who was leader of the Pioneer Column police force, signed a deal with Shona settlers around Masvingo to strengthen his power in overpowering Ndebele people. He took advantage of the Shona after they had been recently raided by the Ndebele. The treat conditions were that everyone involved in attacking the Ndebele would get 6 acres of land, 15 gold claims and in addition they would equally share the cattle they would raid from the Ndebele.
