On this day in 2018, a new cabinet appointed and headed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa was sworn into office. This followed there appointment on 7 September. The cabinet consisted of 20 cabinet ministers, 13 deputy ministers and 9 provincial ministers.
On this day in 2008, the late Robert Gabriel Mugabe then President of Zimbabwe agreed to hand over day to day control of the government and much of his power in a historical deal with his opponent the late Morgan Tsvangirai. The deal was very crucial to end the famous 2008 political crisis that Zimbabwe was in following the disputed 2008 general elections.
On this day in 1999, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party was founded by its leader Morgan Tsvangirai (late). The party was the first movement to go against the superiority of the ruling ZANU-PF. On formation it was mainly composed of trade unionists, church leaders and church leaders.
On this in 2020, Harare town clerk Hosiah Chisango was arrested whilst attending a town clerk’s meeting assembly in Gweru. Chisango’s arrest was in connection to land scams.
On this day in 2013, Former President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe announced a new cabinet following his victory of the July 2013 general elections. The number of ministers was reduced by 7 to 26 from the previous cabinet. The cabinet marked the end of the coalition government which had been formed in 2008.
On this day in 2001, after the MDC had won all the seats contested in Bulawayo, a group of ZANU-PF youth supporters and War Veterans attacked people and passing cars at the Renkini Bus Station. The police did not intervene to stop the attacks, in which a war veteran stabbed one man who he thought was an MDC supporter.
On this day in 2008, the Zimbabwean government confirmed the deaths of four people due to serious outbreak of Cholera which had pricked the whole country.

On this day in 1978, Uebert Mudzanire populary known as Phophet Angel was born in Masvingo. He relocated to England. He established Club Millionaires Limited in 2005. This company offers personal assistance services in the United Kingdom. In England again, he founded the Spirit Embassy Ministry in 2007. In addition, he is the founder and President of the Osborn Institute of Theology and founder of Sam Berkeley Construction. He is also an author with a portfolio of over 10 books.
On this day in 2019, former president of Zimbabwe Robert Gabriel Mugabe died in Singapore after a long battle with cancer. Mugabe had been suffering from prostate cancer for such a long time. His body had become frail and weary, making the fight against cancer more unassailable.
On this day in 2020, a fuel station in Ruwa was burnt down when a fuel tanker was offloading its petroleum product in the early hours of the day. No casualties were reported. The fire was extinguished by the City Fire Brigade. By the time when the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority arrived at the scene, most of nearby properties were already damaged.
On this day in 2014, Squadron leader Taurai Jombo died in a plane crash. Squadron leader Jombo died when a training aircraft he was flying plunged into a squatter settlement in Harare. He was buriedd at Gwatidzo community cemetery in Nyazura.
On this day in 1971, Zimbabwean Politician Temba Mliswa was born in Zambia. Mliswa attended primary school in Zambia before moving to Zimbabwe for secondary education. He joined ZANU PF at an early age. He ws expelled from the party by Robert Mugabe for challenging party decisions. He is currently the Member of Parliament for Norton Constituency.
Former Salvation Army leader General André Cox was born in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe). Cox was appointed as a Salvation Army leader on 25 May 1979.
