Former President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe was laid to rest at his rural home

On this day in 2019, Zimbabwe’s 95 year old former leader Robert Gabriel Mugabe was laid to rest at his rural home in Zvimba, in a low-key Roman Catholic ceremony and only family members to witness his final resting place.The public as well as the government expected that the leader will be buried at the National Shrine as he was one of the country’s heroes. However, Mugabe had his own wishes that is to be buried at his own home therefore, the government honoured his wishes.
