On this day in 1985, Zimbabwean visual artist Wallen Mapondera was born in Harare. In 2007, he graduated from Zimbabwe’s National Gallery School. Mapondera is a multi-disciplinary artist who creates work through painting and drawing. He is best known for his complex wall sculptures which he creates out of cardboards and textiles.
