On this day in 2017, in Harare, a ceremony was held for the purpose of renaming Harare International Airport after its late president, Robert Gabriel Mugabe. Apparently the airport was inducted by Mugabe in April 2001. The Civil Aviation Authority pointed out that, Mugabe as one of Zimbabwe’s founding fathers so it was a fair deal to rename Harare International Airport to Robert Mugabe International Airport.
