The tropical Cyclone which brought heavy rains and strong winds causing floods and landslides in parts of Zimbabwe dissipated. The disaster claimed over 340 lives and 51 000 people were displaced.
On this day in 2020, His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa joined other countries to declare coronavirus disease a national disaster. This was before any cases were confirmed in Zimbabwe. The president called off all social gatherings and cancelled local and international traveling for citizens.
