On this day in 1975, Herbert Wiltshire Pfumaindini Chitepo and one of his bodyguard Silas Shamiso died when a bomb placed on his car exploded in Lusaka, Zambia. His other bodyguard Sadat Kufamadzuba survived with injuries.
