On this day in 2006, the ITCU protested against the arrest of 3 trade unionist through a march. The arrest of the trio had occurred on 13 September 2006 and they were the ZCTU leadership. These included the President Lovemore Matombo, Secretary General Wellington Chibebe, 1st Vice President Lucia Matibenga and 2nd Vice President George Nkiwane.T he peaceful march was organized to recall on 13 September. The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions leadership and activists were brutally assaulted leading to the so called arrest.
