Zimbabwean musician Louis Mhlanga was born

On this day in 1956, Zimbabwean musician, Louis Mhlanga was born in Harare. Mhlanga is now based in South Africa .He taught himself to play guitar at a very young age and as he grew he associated himself with top musicians like Oliver Mutukudzi. Mhlanga is now considered as the best Southern African guitarist. His song “Distant Lover” was used as the sound track on Rebecca Chisamba’s, Mai Chisamba Show, a talk show that airs on Zimbabwe’s ZBC TV since the inception of the show back in the 90s.
