Johane Masowe eChishanu run riot, beating up anti-riot police in Budiriro, Harare

On this day in 2015, members of the Johane Masowe eChishanu sect led by Madzibaba Ishmael Mufani attacked the Zimbabwe Republic Police with stones and knobkerries in Budidriro, Harare. This hostile confrontation took place after president of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe Archbishop Johannes Ndanga had announced the the sect should be banned after reports of human rights abuses especially on the girl child. Police officers, reporters were injured and taken to hospital.
