General elections were held in Zimbabwe 1990

On this day in 1990, the first elections to be contested under the amended constitution of 1987 were held, they were also the first election done on a single roll for both blacks and whites. Robert Mugabe won against Edgar Tekere of Zimbabwe Unity Movement (ZUM).
