Former Zimbabwean Vice-President, John Landa Nkomo died. He succumbed to cancer at the age of 78

On this day in 2013, former Zimbabwean Vice-President, John Landa Nkomo died at the age of 78 after succumbing to cancer in South Africa. Nkomo was one of the liberation struggle that played a very crucial figure for Zimbabwe in attaining its independence from colonial Britain. He advocated for equality, fratenity and civil justice, thus in 1963, he was chosen as the first secretary of the Radical Residents association.
